Moroccan Treasures Cuisine and Culture Tour

I have wanted to lead a Moroccan culinary tour for years! Taking groups overseas to experience tastes, textures, aromas and sounds in their native surroundings is always as rewarding as it is fun. Over the years I've taken people to Italy, Greece, Egypt, and Turkey in search of a true understanding of cuisines and the cultures who have created them. To me, Morocco has always had a mystical and magical appeal with rich anthropological roots, that are just begging to be translated.

My career has been linked to the country since Cooking Light asked me to write this article. I later created a Moroccan culinary program entitled "From Design to Dinner" for The National Museum of African Art and taught a series of 19 Moroccan cooking classes for Living Social.

When the Moroccan TV heard how much Americans were interested in Moroccan cuisine, they came to interview me at the school! It was fun to share the students' enthusiasm with the Moroccan community both in Washington, DC and abroad.

For this trip, I've teamed up with Alex Safos of Get Global Expeditions to create the "Moroccan Treasures" Tour. In addition to touring the "must-sees" in Casablanca, Fes, Marrakesh, and Essaouira, the mission of the experience is to reveal how concepts of design, worship, beauty, and art influenced the Moroccan table. Our itinerary includes hands-on cooking classes, guest lectures, guided tours to UNESCO World Heritage sites, tastings, and of course, shopping. Click here for the full itinerary.

Note that registration ends on APRIL 1, 2016 and there are only a few spaces left. Click here to register. To start experiencing authentic Moroccan fare even before we leave, get my Moroccan menu and recipes here.
