The abundance of raspberries in stores this time of year, combined with their freshness, flavor, and affordability make them a great choice for seasonal menus. Luckily, raspberries are also considered to be one of "the world's healthiest foods"! The juicy berry is one of the sweetest heart healthy options around - plus it's low in cholesterol and calories, high in fiber and full of vitamin C. Raspberries contain flavanoids and quercetin - which are believed to prevent cardiovascular disease, obesity, and the negative effects of aging.
